Recently, the WAN Awards announced the 2020 final winners in the form of an online award ceremony. The Panda Pavilions , designed by Ping Jiang, the Design Principal of EID Architecture, won Gold WAN Awards for the“Best Future Projects: Civic”.
According to statistics, 129 entries of the WAN Awards in 2020 were shortlisted, with 25 gold winners. Here is the feedback from some of the judges:
Set beautifully within the landscape and considerate of the context and scale.
Sensitively articulated facades. Good use of texture and material.
A beautifully designed campus of buildings. They appear to emerge from the land naturally in an organic manner. It's nice to see the designers thought about the pavilions from the visitor's perspective, the panda's ideal habitat and the impact of the project on the environment. I'm curious what the other green-roofed circular structures provide.
Utopic relation with nature and architecture.. Save the Panda.
